Swami Keshwanand was an Indian freedom fighter and a great social reformer. Swami Keshwanand was born at village Magluna in district Sikar of present-day Rajasthan in the year 1883 AD. Swamiji, whose actual name was Birama, was the son of Thakarsee, a poor camel-driver, and his wife Saran. The family were Hindu and belonged to the Dhaka gotra of Jat clan. He did a lot to educate the people and opened schools in the desert area.
